The biggest Premier League game of the weekend is certainly the clash between the London Blues and the Reds from Merseyside. The result of the match probably won’t change much regarding the table placements of these two teams, but that doesn’t mean that we’re not going to see an entertaining match at Stamford Bridge. On the contrary, we’re likely to witness a super-exciting duel. To learn more about it, make sure to read this Chelsea vs. Liverpool match preview!
Chelsea
We’re not going to see Chelsea in the Champions League next season, as they’re most likely to finish the season on the fifth place. In theory, they still do have a chance to end up among the top four Premier League teams, but for that to happen, Tottenham or Liverpool have to lose their remaining games with a huge goal difference.
So, it’s almost impossible for such a scenario to happen. Instead, it seems that it’s better for Chelsea to focus on the FA Cup, where they have a chance to win the trophy. They play the final against Manchester United on May 19.
Of course, all of this doesn’t mean that Chelsea will spread the white flag when Liverpool come to town. Playing well at their turf is what they own to their fans, who have been coming to support them throughout the season. But, truth be told, Chelsea haven’t been too impressive at home this season, at least not as much as they were in the previous years.
Liverpool
Last week, Liverpool got themselves a spot in the final of the Champions League, where they will play against Real Madrid. It seems that winning the trophy is all they desire at the moment, meaning that the Premier League is no longer their top priority. And it really doesn’t have to be, given the fact that they’re probably gonna finish the season at one of the top four spots.
That said, you can be sure that Liverpool manager will try to ensure that his key men don’t get injured in the games prior to the Champions League final. Unfortunately, some of their players are already injured. It’s particularly a big problem when it comes to the midfield. In fact, it seems that only three of their A-team midfielders are fit and ready for this match – Henderson, Milner, and Wijnaldum.
Because of this, it won’t be a big surprise if Klopp decides to give a chance to some of the youngsters. For example, Jones Curtis and Camacho Rafael seem likely to play a part in one of the games in the remainder of the Premier League season 2017/2018.

Chelsea vs. Liverpool Match Prediction
Liverpool have shown us so many times this season that they don’t know how to defend. They’re traveling to London to score as many goals as possible on Sunday evening. Can they manage that? I think yes, despite that Chelsea have a pretty decent defense. At the same time, I also think that Chelsea will also score. After all, the game’s played at the Stamford Bridge, the place where they scored in each game since January.
