Everton vs. Newcastle Match Preview & Betting Tips

It’s fair to say that both Everton and Newcastle have already achieved their goals for this season. Both sides are on respectable positions in the middle of the Premier League table, with almost no chance of getting relegated. At the same time, they don’t have a chance to compete for Europe either.  Of course, this doesn’t mean that their clash on Monday evening won’t be interesting. Right now, the Toffees are in the 9th place in Premier League, with one point more than their next opponent. However, they’ve played one game more than Newcastle. What this means is that if they want to stay in the same spot, they mustn’t lose on Monday.

And if they manage to win, Everton could get one place higher. But, it seems that the 8th place is the maximum they can achieve this season. At the same time, even if they play badly for the remainder of the season, their position won’t drop too much. In the worst-case scenario, Everton would finish the season just above the relegation zone. Surely, considering that they have a reasonably easy fixture list, such thing probably won’t happen.

Another reason why I think Everton will stay in the top half of the Premier League table is that they’ve been playing pretty well in the last couple of weeks. They did lose to Manchester City on the last day of March, but everyone did this season. The champions have beaten each team in the league at least once. Everton is one of only a few sides that managed not too lose both games against Man City this season. The game played at Goodison Park finished 1:1.

Speaking of Everton’s performances at the Goodison Park, they have been pretty decent. That is the place where they’ve won most of their points, taking points off some heavyweights along the way. For instance, Everton won one point in the Merseyside Derby played two weeks ago.

Newcastle

Last Sunday, Newcastle lived one of the most memorable moments of their campaign. They beat Arsenal 2:1, which was their fourth victory in a row. Before beating the Gunners, they did the same against Leicester City, Huddersfield, and Southampton.

Rafa Benitez’ team hopes to finish the season on the top half of the table, but even if they fail to do it, it won’t be a big disappointment.  After all, they’ve managed to stay in the league, which was their main pre-season goal.

This means that they will come into the duel with Everton relaxed and confident of achieving a good result. With no pressure on them to win this match, they might be able to put another great performance and once again surprise the pundits.

Everton vs. Newcastle Match Prediction

It’s not easy to predict the outcome of this game as both sides have been playing very well lately. Still, I think that the quality is on the side of the hosts, not to mention that the Toffees are famously great when playing on their own turn. So, my advice is betting on the home team, but if you think it’s too risky, perhaps double chance 1X is a better solution.
