Despite its glorious past, Lille is playing poorly this season. This team is currently on the second-to-bottom spot on Ligue 1 table and unless they improve their form, they’ll get relegated. Unfortunately, that won’t be easy as Lille have a pretty tough schedule ahead. For example, this Friday, they play against Monaco, one of the strongest sides in the league.
Is there a chance for Lille to get at least something from the clash with Monaco? Find out in this Monaco vs. Lille match preview!
Monaco vs. Lille: Match Preview
It seems that the title race in the French Ligue 1 is over, the trophy will end up in Paris. PSG currently have 17 points more than second-placed Monaco, although this team has played one game less. Although the chances that Monaco can win the title are close to zero, this team needs to keep on playing well till the end of the season in order to ensure they’ll remain at the second spot.
A thing that gives their fans the confidence that Monaco will have no problems against Lille is that this team has been playing very well lately. In fact, Monaco have won six out of previous seven games, counting all competitions. Another interesting fact about Monaco’s form is that they’ve scored at least two goals in every single game they played since early January.
Rony Lopez has particularly been impressive. The winger has scored 8 out of his 11 Monaco goals in the last couple of weeks. In fact, his amazing form started as soon as we entered the year 2018. We’ll see if he’s gonna put another great performance on Friday, when his current team plays against his former team, Lille.
With only 28 points after 29 games, Lille is currently just a spot away from the bottom of the table. This is something that’s pretty disastrous for a club that won the Ligue 1 trophy seven years ago. The good news is that not all battles are lost. If they start playing better, Lille have a chance not only to get away from the relegation zone but, in fact, to end up somewhere in the middle of the table.
Unfortunately, they haven’t been playing too well lately. This side hasn’t won a game since January, losing two out of three previous matches. Another thing that’s giving a headache to their fans is that Lille have been pretty awful when playing away from their stadium this season. They have won only three games out of possible 11, losing nine matches along the way.

Monaco vs. Lille Match Prediction
Monaco are undefeated in previous 14 games and I don’t believe Lille have what it takes to change it. I’m pretty confident we will witness another Monaco win in their effort to ensure the 2nd spot on the table. The chances are high that the win against Lille will be a big one. We’re likely to see at least two goals in Lille’s net.
