Los Blancos have a chance to salvage the season. The La Liga title is gone to Barcelona, but they can still get to the second place. But, to achieve that, they need to do better than Atletico Madrid. Right now, the difference between the two is 4 points, but that can change this weekend, when El Derbi madrileño takes place. Here’s a Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid match preview that you can find very useful if you’re looking for betting tips.
Real Madrid
After thrashing Juventus 3:0 in the Champions League earlier this week, the morale in Los Blancos’ locker room is super-high. They believe that led by the in-form Ronaldo, they can make keep their good run going. Real Madrid have won each of their previous 6 matches, counting all competition.
After a fairly poor start of the season, not many believed that the 33-years-old Cristiano Ronaldo was going to come back. But, he did come back in style. His performance against Juve is gonna be remembered for years. Apart from doing great in the Champions League, CR7 has started playing well in La Liga as well.
Actually, he currently has 22 La Liga goals to his name and is on the second place on the top scorer list. The number 1 is his arch-nemesis, Lionel Messi, who currently has 6 goals more. Obviously, that difference doesn’t seem that big, especially considering Ronaldo’s recent form. This guy has scored in each of previous 9 games he played for Real Madrid. In total, he’s scored a total of 19 goals in those matches!
Of course, Ronaldo isn’t the only player in Real Madrid that’s in a great form. Isco has been particularly impressive lately. The same goes for Kroos, Modric, Ramos, and many others.
Atletico Madrid
Atleti are currently on the 2nd place on the table, which is certainly a great achievement. However, I doubt they have what it takes to stay there until the end of the season. Their fixture list after the Madrid derby does seem favorable, but this team doesn’t have a good bench.
There’s no doubt that Atletico Madrid have some really amazing players among their first 11, but their substitutes don’t seem that good. Actually, there are only 18 players in Atletico’s first team, which is why their manager, Diego Simeone, was forced to use two team B players (Antonio Moya and Carlos Muñoz) in the previous match.
It seems that some of Atletico’s key men are in a dire need of rest, not to mention that this team has been struggling with injuries, especially at the back. Defenders like Filipe Luis, Vrsaljko, Juanfran, and Gimenez, are either injured or having fitness problems ahead of the clash with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid Match Prediction
Atletico have always been a tough nut to crack, but I think Real Madrid are unstoppable at the moment. I think we’re gonna see a dominant home win at the Bernabeu.
