Chelsea vs. Huddersfield Match Preview & Betting Tips

After beating Liverpool last weekend, Chelsea are now much closer to booking a spot in the Champions League next season. Beating Huddersfield on Wednesday evening would get them to an equal number of points as Liverpool, but the Reds would still have a much better goal difference. Anyway, there’s nothing Chelsea can do but to go out at the Stamford Bridge and do their best to thrash Huddersfield. Will they do it? Find out in the Chelsea vs. Huddersfield match preview!

Chelsea

Chelsea have been in a superb form in a previous couple of weeks. In fact, since they lost to Tottenham at the Stamford Bridge on the first day of April, Chelsea have won five matches and drew one. The good form improved their position on the table. They’re now very close to ending the Premier League season at one of the top four places.

If the Blues beat Huddersfield on Wednesday evening at the Stamford Bridge, they will go to the final round of the Premier League with the same number of points as Liverpool. The Brighton in the final match of the season, but this can be very tricky for them, considering that they have the Champions League final in their minds.

So, with a little bit of luck, Chelsea can get a spot in the Champions League. Of course, Antonio Conte’s guys need to win the remaining Premier League games – against Newcastle in the last round and against Huddersfield this Wednesday.

Obviously, Chelsea definitely have the player quality to win these two matches. It seems that the whole team has been playing great lately. Each player in the squad has been playing at a top level in the last few weeks, but there are a few players who need a special praise – Giroud, Hazard, Moses, Hazard, and so on.

Huddersfield

Last season, this team played in the Championship. They managed to get to the English top flight after playing in the promotion playoffs. Before the 20107/2018 Premier League started, Huddersfield were considered one of the biggest favorites for relegation. But, it seems that they’ve proved everyone wrong. They’re likely to stay in the league for another year.

To be completely frank, Huddersfield have one of the weakest squads in the league. There are no big-name players in this team, but they did pretty weak this season, winning points against heavyweights on several occasions.

The man who deserves the most praise for the success of this team is their coach, Wagner. Germany-born American manager has been in the club since 2015, taking Huddersfield to the Premier League and probably helping them stay there for another season.

But, if they stay in the Premier League in 2018/2019 season, they will have to improve certain aspects of the game. First of all, they will need to start playing better in the attack. This season, they’ve scored only 27 goals, which is the least number of goals of all teams in the league. Speaking of their scoring proves, it seems they have no chance of beating Chelsea defense on Wednesday…
