European Qualifiers: Road to the World Cup so far. There are only four games left until the end of the qualification for the World Cup 2018, so it will be interesting to see who will travel in Russia next year.
The nine group winners will advance directly to join Russia in the 32-team FIFA World Cup final tournament, while the eight runners-up with the best records in their groups proceed to play-offs to decide the remaining four finals berths allocated to Europe.
Group A
Sweden is in the good position and their next two games (away against Bulgaria and Belarus) could be crucial on their road to Russia, so they have to win both games in order to stay at the top of the table. France and Netherlands face each other and one of them will definitively lost their chances to reach the World Cup. Bulgaria still have a chance to qualify, but they will have to take three points against leader in this group.
Group B
Switzerland stand at the top in Group B and they are on a good way to qualify directly. They will not have big problems to beat Andorra and Latvia. On the other side, Portugal stand at the second position and they still have a chance to reach the 1st position, but they have to win all games in this group until the end of the qualification, including Switzerland in the late phase of qualification.
Group C
In the Group C, things are clear. Germany stand at the top of the table and they will probably qualify directly on World Cup. Northern Ireland still have a chance to finish as one of the best second national teams and try to reach Russia next year through play-off.
Group D
The Group D is one of the most interesting in the qualification for World Cup 2018. Serbia and Republic of Ireland are sharing the first two positions, while Wales and Austria hope that they can reach the second position. Until the end of the qualification will meet Republic of Ireland and Serbia and that match could be crucial for both sides.
Group E
Poland stand at the top in Group A and they will probably finish at the 1st position and qualify directly on the best football national world competition. Montenegro and Denmark still have a chance to reach the second position, so their battle will be more than interesting until the end of the qualification.
Group F
England stand at the first position in Group F and they are the main candidate to qualify directly on World Cup 2018. Slovakia and Slovenia both still have a chance to reach Russia, so the clash between these two national teams on September 01 will be the most important for both sides.
Group G
Spain and Italy are sharing the first position in the Group G, so the match between Spain vs Italy on Sunday, September 02, will be the most important for both side to qualify directly. However, the second team in this group will play play-off match and have to win in order to qualify for World Cup 2018.
Group H
Belgium stand at the 1st position in Group H and they are the main candidate to qualify directly. On September 03, they travel to Greece and if they beat home side there, Belgium will go directly in Russia next year.
Group I
In the Group I is everything open and four national teams have a chance to finish at the top of this group. Croatia and Iceland are in the better position with 13 points, but Turkey and Ukraine have two points less, so it will be interesting until the end in Group I.
